Ethics

Only book operators with permitted, regulated chumming practices. Avoid operators that bait sharks toward divers outside cages.

Operators

We don’t accept payment for listings. Operators are included when they appear in regulator permit lists or have an established track record at the site — we mark each one as verified only when we’ve cross-checked the permit ourselves.

No certification required for surface cage. Free-diving extensions require breath-hold competence.

Conservation

White sharks are listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List. Regional populations have shifted (notably away from Gansbaai toward Mossel Bay) and operator availability changes year to year.

Limitations

Sighting frequency is operator-reported. We do not present a per-trip probability without a documented effort denominator.
