Moorea

French Polynesia · Society Islands

Moorea is the heart-shaped island visible from Tahiti and a world-class shark and ray diving destination. Its lagoon shelters resident populations of blacktip and lemon sharks year-round, while spinner dolphins patrol the outer reef. Coral gardens in Cook's Bay and Opunohu Bay support dense populations of butterflyfish, surgeonfish, and moray eels, with healthy hard coral coverage making this one of French Polynesia's most photogenic dive locations.
