Soufriere Bay Dominica
Dominica · Dominica
Soufriere Bay sits within the territory of the world's only population of resident sperm whales accessible to divers and snorkelers. A family unit of approximately 30 individuals has been documented using the deep submarine canyon offshore as a hunting ground year-round. Drift dive the outer bay wall then surface for surface swims in open water as the whales travel between dives. Current along the outer wall is strong and unpredictable; advanced buoyancy and drift experience are non-negotiable.
