Pandan Island Wall
Puerto Princesa / Honda Bay · Philippines
The east face of Pandan Island drops in a dramatic vertical wall from 5 metres to beyond 35 metres, festooned with gorgonian sea fans, black coral trees, and thick carpets of soft coral. Large pelagics including Napoleon wrasse, dogtooth tuna, and occasional barracuda schools cruise the blue water beyond the wall top. This is the most demanding site in Honda Bay, with a moderate surge on the wall face during southwesterly months and occasional thermoclines below 25 metres.
