Ponta do Leste
Ilha Grande · Brazil
The easternmost tip of Ilha Grande where Atlantic Ocean swells create a mild drift along a stepped granite wall dropping to 30 m. Green and hawksbill turtles are reliably present, endemic Brazilian reef fish school in the upper zones, and the deeper ledges shelter jewfish grouper and large southern stingrays resting on sandy patches.
