General Stores
Kauai · United States
A shallow reef named for the jumbled basalt blocks that resemble a general store's crowded shelves, this accessible site off the east coast near Kapaa is one of Kauai's best turtle cleaning stations. Hawaiian green turtles queue at coral heads while cleaner fish service their shells and skin, and the complex structure supports a dense population of day octopus and reef fish that make it an outstanding wide-angle photography site. Gentle currents and consistent 15 to 25 metre visibility make it suitable for all certification levels.
