Halik Reef
Lombok · Indonesia
Halik Reef wraps around the northeast corner of Gili Air and is celebrated for its turtle density — it is not unusual to encounter five or six green turtles in a single dive, resting on barrel sponges or grazing on seagrass patches at the reef base. The shallow top at 5 metres gives way to a sloping wall lined with healthy hard corals, feather stars, and cleaning stations busy with cleaner wrasse. Night dives here reveal lionfish, octopus, and sleeping parrotfish encased in their mucus cocoons.
