Cap Ferrat Wall
Nice / Cote d'Azur · France
The submarine extension of the Cap Ferrat peninsula drops as a sheer limestone wall from 10 to 60 metres, bristling with red and yellow gorgonian fans that grow to over a metre in diameter on the deeper sections. Dusky grouper patrol mid-water, large moray eels coil in the wall's fissures, and swarms of anthias create a curtain of orange above the sea fans. The wall's north-facing aspect keeps it shaded and cool, and visibility is reliably excellent from May through October. This is the premier wall dive on the Nice coast.
