Nurse sharks wedge themselves into sandy pockets within The Maze's deeper passages to sleep during daylight hours, sometimes with their tails protruding from coral overhangs in a scene that surprises unprepared divers rounding a corner. Multiple individuals use the same resting spots consistently, suggesting strong site fidelity.
