Multiple frogfish species inhabit the wreck's encrusted surfaces, blending into sponge colonies. Their ambush feeding strategy — the fastest strike in the animal kingdom at 6 milliseconds — makes them a favourite subject for underwater photographers who locate them by their lure (esca), which mimics a small worm or shrimp.
